This is the first year in a long time when aside from visiting well-wishers, I’ll be alone at Xmas, wishing I could be with my family back in the London (UK). Here’s my plan!

New York, USA: Tree Lighting and Carol Singing in Washington Square Park

From 6pm on the 7th of December, the annual tree lighting ceremony will be back and bringing with it the opportunity to see Santa who, along with the festive spirit and Brass-accompanied street-singing, has promised to drop by to delight the young and old alike.

The Irish Waterfront Festival in Newport, Rhode Island, New England has been re-scheduled to the 24th and the 25th of September (thank Hurricane Irene for its postponement from the 3rd).
